It's a bit of a trek to get to but the options for food and Ale on arrival are brilliant. Lost for options. You can admire a lovely view of Southampton and Isle of Wight whilst you feast. It is quite pricey but for what you get with the atmosphere, food and view, you can't complain much.
The food is good, simple fayre. I had the lamb shank and it was nice, if a little cold as I'm sure it had been left out for a while. The Sunday roasts looked good.We went on a Sunday. It was very busy. We had booked a table which is certainly recommended on a Sunday even in mid January. Lovely views across the Solent and if you park in one of the shore line car parks it's a nice walk. Bar service was very unfriendly and rushed. Felt like we were an inconvenience to the bar man. Table service was better and friendly. It wasn't our first time here and our past experience was quite similar. In suammry come for the views and beer garden during the summer and put up with the crowds and the unfriendly bar service.
Lovely place and good food. Excellent service from the staff. Little dog was welcomed too!
We decided to have a walk to the Osborne view early evening New Years Eve. I live local and thought it would be nice for my wife and I to have a early drink before the festivities at home. We arrived approximately 7pm only to be asked wheres your Ticket to come in? Thinking this was a joke from the two ladies on the door I said Dont need one were locals they replied were not joking you can buy a ticket if you just want a drink! We refused and walked to the Crofton pub where we were most welcome. Wont be using this pub again!
We had our Christmas Dinner here and it was absolutely fantastic - great venue, with lots of parking and lovely view out over the Solent.The food was delicious and the staff were all very friendly.Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended.
