Have visited The Solent Hotel & Spa many times over the years. It hasn't changed much but that's a good thing "if it ain't broke don't fix it". It can be quite pricey at times for what you get. Have stayed over once on an escape package (May 2017). The stay was good. The only thing that let it down was on the website when booking it stated that I could have an upgrade to a one hour treatment for 20. I chose a deep tissue massage. After booking was completely disappointed to receive an email to say the deep tissue massage was not included in this offer and I would have to pay an additional 50 to receive this treatment. Once again this WAS NOT stated anywhere on the website when I booked. Even so I really wanted this treatment so tried to still go ahead and book. Alas no therapist available to do a deep tissue massage. Apart from that the back massage I did receive was brilliant, the food good and the stay a success. I would visit the hotel again, consider a stay overnight but won't be booking a package due to feeling like I was scammed the last time. . Lastly over the evening of the I ordered a few drinks. On the last occasion of ordering I was charged, paid by contactless but was given no receipt. On reflection in the morning I realised any amount could have been charged and I would know no different or have any proof. I progressed to sort this and Tom the bar manager was excellent in dealing with this issue. Can not fault the staff at the hotel for service it's a shame the issues spa booking. If it wasn't for this issue would have given 4*.
Attended a course here on Friday. A lovely hotel, with good food. All staff friendly and helpful but... Ladies toilets not flushing and no loo paper! Very dirty door handles and no paper towels to dry hands. Cups and mugs were not washed and I struggled to find a clean one. The room itself was either to hot or cold. Shame as it has a lovely atmosphere.
I attended a function last weekend and the food was excellent, hot, well presented and very tasty. The decor was very nice and the staff efficient, although they didn't smile much! Great venue and superb evening. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Attended a function last evening . Thought the menu was excellent , best I have had at function . Served hot ; looked good and tasted superb. I dont eat fish but my guests said it was excellent . Soup Was different and tasty . Tasty main course with good presentation and hot . Nice to have a dessert slightly different .compliments to chef and team . Jake and his team were very professional , smart and served with a smile . Very slick . Nice to see George overseeing . Angelique and her team ensured we all enjoyed . Thoroughly enjoyed evening . Well done all .
A nice hotel and spa. I was there for work to train a course so didnt experience the spa. The staff were friendly and the place was very clean with some great catering choices within the conferencing area.
