The most stunning ruin. Would love to have been able to see this place in its prime. Certainly well worth a visit.
It's a lovely place to go with camera or a a picnic, car parking for about 8 cars if drivers park with consideration, open daily from morning till roughly early evening, there is one large picnic table easy fit 8 people, old orchard trees to sit under with a picnic. Great to play hide and seek with the kids. Was there today I go often, sections of the grounds are left to grown to a meadow, with crickets and swifts and swallow we spotted today also 3 pairs of mating white doves. Even on a over cast day it's great for a wander about. There is a pub across the road and a garden centre/aquatics centre next door with a lovely little cafe and plenty parking also two Pokemon stops just in case you like to collect
This place is a real hidden gem. There aren't a huge number of interpretation boards, but there's a real treasure here - the medieval tiles, which, remarkably, are just left out to the elements! Signage is very poor on reaching the Abbey, but you can actually drive through the gate and park on site. A good place for a picnic!
Excellent local history site !
Wonderful ground ruins, same feature are still visible and gives you a very good view of the Abby in its glory. Pity wasn't reconstructed!
